This picture represents the Great depression era, because it shows how the terrible economy was affecting everyone. You can see that the young boy is leaning out a window, which is really just a hole in the wall. There isn't even glass covering the "window", there is just a ragged piece of cloth acting as a barrier to the elements. Also the child looks malnourished and overworked. He also is wearing clothes that seem to be too small and dirty. The child and house show just how much damage was done by the failing economy.

Part 3A
Everyone in the interviews I read were very opinionated. Each of them took a stand on a topic that gave me clues as to how life was during the great depression. I was especially shocked by how Chris Thorston the iron worker hated his dangerous work that almost killed him, but he stays in it because he must really need the money. Also, the show of racism in that time was from Jim Cole, who wasn't allowed into a prestigious butcher union, because he was black. This just goes to show how big of a problem racism was, as well as money. But money and race weren't the only problem. Women also were treated differently than men, like when Alice Caudle couldn't achieve a higher place in the mill she worked at due to her being a woman. Marie Haggerty was also a women who shows the financial problems, from when she was tested for honesty by having a five dollar bill left to see if she'd take it. If she wasn't honest, then there was no point in hiring her. Clyde Kingfish is also proof of how hard the economy was. He had to sell his fish at five cents per pound just to sell any to the poor people. He and all of the other people interviewed are living proof that the people and economy suffered greatly during the Great Depression.

Paragraph
In the article I read on terrapin dogs, I learned quite a bit about terrapins, or a species of turtle in the southern part of our country. But that's not what's being discussed. In the article a man named Lawrence F. Evans was interviewed. He is interviewed in Baldwin County, Alabama. The date of the interview was January fourth, nineteen thirty nine. Although the name of the interviewer was not given, they provided me with much insight about the methods of terrapin hunters, but not so much about the Great Depression, which I was hoping to learn about.
